John,
Thank you for taking the time to discuss your business opportunity with me over the phone. I am creating this page to show my dedication to helping to build Pagelink and ourselves into a greater success. I have additional information about my sales strategy here.
Team Building
As we discussed, the mobile industry is growing at a pace we can barely wrap our heads around, and we need to keep up. We can do this is through rapid structured expansion. Craigslist is a great way to catch a fish in a swamp full of frogs, but there are plenty of fish in the sea. Our main recruitment targets are managers and a sales force (assuming that the development is taken care of). A dedicated sales team is easy to secure. We can get into business programs at local universities to set up internships to have a dedicated call center and an outside sales team. I think the 20 somethings are a great age group for this industry because they are eager to learn and already know about technology. If we don't want a dedicated appointment setting team, we can focus on post graduates with a background in sales.
Many of these sales minded folk have heard every "start your own business" pitch out there and I think it will scare our top recruits away. With an outreach campaign that ensures aspiring salesmen that they need to be dedicated 9-5 we will increase productivity tenfold. Additionally, mid-week motivational meetings will help to build the team structure and inner-office competition that drives production. Our sales team will not want to feel alone and creating cell groups that hold each other accountable will also increase production without having to divide up commissions to another team leader.
There are many team leaders that are switching industries and are looking to make a lateral career move. These are the types that are comfortable with making an investment to create a job structure and realize that direct sales is success based. These grey-beards will show our young sales force that they are in a great company that people can grow old with. If we have 50 people in Cleveland making only 1 sale per week, that's $1,250 in $25 chunks, a number which I am sure you are aware of.
Training
A prepared salesman is a confident salesman, and confidence sells. After a hiring push, we can run group training classes of five people to maximize time. Training will be information based on day 1, then strategy based on day 2. The information will be about mobile industry and sales pitch, including buzzwords for the industry. At this time, recruits can practice sales calls on each other and their training supervisor. The strategy day will be similar to a job shadow, where new hires will listen to appointment setting calls and attend a pitch with a skilled rep. In addition to initial training of new recruits, we can provide ongoing training materials for our team. This can be done through video and then our sales team can have the information handy when they want to review. This information can range from "cold calling techniques" to "getting strong referrals from a client" and "documenting daily stats" This information can be included in a private section of Pagelink - the App.
Pagelink - The App
Having an app will show our customers and employees that we believe in our product. It will also be a great place to host our sales materials. Having quick interactive links that have market insights will allow our team members to be more confident in their sales presentations. We can essentially have our rep hit play on a video, use the restroom, and by the time they get back the business owner will have a signed contract and a swiped credit card. Once the information is created, the app will be easy to develop and new training materials can be added with a few keystrokes and clicks. This app can serve as a virtual office for our team, and we can also send push notifications to make reminders and announcements.
